Rows wrong or missing?
Send us the shape of this statement, not its contents. The report below is made in this browser. It keeps where text sits, dates and column headings. Every name, amount, reference and account number is replaced with x and 1, as you can see. Nothing is sent until you send it.
Then email the report to support@statementtocsv.co.uk and say which bank it is from. We’ll add the layout and let you know.

Works with text PDFs that have Date, Description, Paid in / Paid out (or Amount) and Balance columns. Scanned or photographed statements are not supported yet. The samples are fictional test data.
Because NatWest prints a balance on every line, a converted NatWest statement can be checked at a glance in Excel too: the Balance column of the spreadsheet should equal the previous balance plus money in, minus money out, all the way down.
NatWest’s own download, or the PDF statement?
NatWest online banking can also offer a transaction download for recent activity. It’s a quick way to get the last few weeks into a spreadsheet, but it isn’t your statement: the date range is limited and the layout differs. When you need figures that match the statements exactly, for a year-end, a lender or HMRC, convert the PDF statements instead.

Working with NatWest transactions in Excel
- Prove the balance yourself. Add a column with
=E2+C3-D3(previous balance plus paid in minus paid out) and compare it with the Balance column. Every row should match. - Find regular payments. Sort by Description to group the same payee together and spot subscriptions or standing orders.
- Month-by-month totals. Add a Month column and use a pivot table to total Paid In and Withdrawn amounts per month.
Support status: tested
We have converted real NatWest statements and checked every row against their printed balances. Banks change their statement designs from time to time, so each conversion is still checked: if a future NatWest layout doesn’t read correctly, the balance check will show it.
StatementToCSV is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by NatWest. The name is used only to describe the statements the converter reads.

How do I export a NatWest statement to Excel?
Download the statement PDF from NatWest online banking, convert it here and click “Download CSV for Excel”.
Will the Withdrawn column come through?
Yes. Withdrawn amounts are put in the Paid out column, so money in and money out are always in the same place in the spreadsheet.
Is my NatWest statement uploaded?
No. It is read by your browser on your computer and never leaves it.
