Try a fictional sample:

Works with text PDFs that have Date, Description, Paid in / Paid out (or Amount) and Balance columns. Scanned or photographed statements are not supported yet. The samples are fictional test data.

Virgin Money support is in beta: we haven’t tested a real Virgin Money statement yet. Virgin Money took over the Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank brands, so older statements for the same account may look quite different from recent ones. The converter reads each statement by its own columns, and the balance check shows whether every row was read.

How to download your Virgin Money statement as a PDF

  1. Log in to Virgin Money internet banking or the app.
  2. Choose the account and look for Statements.
  3. Select the period and save the PDF.
  4. Business customers may find statements in a separate business banking service.

If you need statements from before the account moved to the Virgin Money brand, they may carry the older Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank design.

Menu names change from time to time and can differ between the app and the website. If you can’t find statements, search for “statements” in the app or online banking help.

What to check on your Virgin Money statement

Check your statement for a date, a description, money out, money in and a running balance. Older Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank statements may use different headings; if they aren’t recognised, a layout report lets us add them.

Which export to choose

Choose the CSV for Excel for personal accounts, or Xero / QuickBooks for business accounts in accounting software.

Common issues with Virgin Money statements

Support status: beta

StatementToCSV reads statements by their columns, not with a fixed template for each bank, so some Virgin Money statements may already convert. But we haven’t yet tested a real Virgin Money statement, so we don’t claim support. Verified means every extracted row adds up to the balances printed on the statement. If you don’t see Verified, the converter shows you where the balances stopped adding up.

You can help: click Help us support this layout under the result. It creates a report of the statement’s layout in your browser, with every name, amount, reference and account number replaced by x and 1. Email it to support@statementtocsv.co.uk. When Virgin Money is tested, it will be announced on the updates page.

Questions people ask

Does StatementToCSV work with Virgin Money statements?

Virgin Money is in beta. Some statements may already convert, and every conversion is checked against the balances.

Can I convert old Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank statements?

Possibly. They haven’t been tested; the balance check will show whether each one read correctly.

What if it doesn’t convert?

Send us an anonymised layout report from the converter, and say which bank brand is on the statement.
